On May, 23rd 2010, the East London Line finally had its official opening day along our local stations. Very quickly people realised that this long awaited connection to the North East was actually opening a whole range of possibilities in addition to making our area more attractive to the City and Docklands commuters. We count as many as 10 museums and galleries along the line from Dalston Junction in the North, through the East End to West Croydon in the South.
As the line now give access to a lot of museums and attractions on both sides of the Thames, the ELL seems to have now been christened the Culture Line (see linked website). Here are some examples of the attention the press has been giving to the subject:

Apparently TFL have produced a leaflet telling you what you can find on the line but I have not seen a copy yet. It is called "Up and Running"
The Londonist has produced a series of guides introducing the stations and what to do along the line. The link refers to the Honor Oak Park one but the others can also be found by doing a search on the website.

Definitely recommend visiting Wapping Old Stairs. It has fascinating history and was the recent location for filming of Ricky Love's new film "Pirates of The Wapping Old Stairs"
